PGA Golf Professional

Lessons to meet every individuals needs and goals.

Welcome to Alex Lodge Golf – this is my corner of the Internet where you can find out more about how I can help your golf game, and you can keep up with the professional golf tournaments I compete in. I’m an Assistant PGA Professional based at Calcot Park Golf Club, Reading. I’m currently in the second year of his PGA training, and due to commence the final year in September whereby I will become a fully qualified PGA Professional.

I’ve been fortunate enough over the past 10 years to spend time with some of the best players and coaches in the UK & Portugal. This has allowed me to absorb tonnes of information about the golf swing and how to get yourself round the golf course in the lowest score possible.

I tailor lessons to meet every individuals needs and goals. I don’t believe in teaching a ‘method’ to golfers as no two people have the same mechanics and traits. Therefore I cater for every swing style by working with what you are physically able to do and assisting you in getting the most out of your golf. I try to create an enjoyable environment for all golfers as this is the easiest way to learn and absorb the information being provided

In the Bag

I started playing with Callaway equipment little over a year ago, and the switch was one of the best decisions I have made. They make arguably the best Driver’s and Fairway Woods on the market, and their iron range is improving every year. What I like most is that they have a sleek design, but also give forgiveness to the user. Callaway, with all of their equipment, manage to combine workability with forgiveness which in the main is a difficult combination to conjour up.

I carry a Driver and a 3 Wood, and as far as woods I feel like that is all I need. I am a confident long iron player, therefore I don’t feel like a hybrid would be a right choice for me. I then start with a 2 Iron and go all the way down to a Pitching Wedge, and I have never felt so comfortable and in control of my iron play as I do now. I then have 2 wedges, 52 & 58 degree, and I feel this allows me to play all the shots required and keep my yardage gaps consistent throughout the bag.
